General 2010 Program Information

Program Goals
To provide youth players the opportunity to learn the skills, techniques and rules of soccer and to assign players to teams to help ensure a balance of experience and age. The focus of recreational soccer is toward participation and fun over competition.

Our Recreational Program offers a developmental intra-club experience, providing healthy activity emphasizing enjoyment over competition.  This small-sided format is excellent for players ages 4-13 that are primarily interested in fun, fitness and friendship while playing in their local community.  Your child must be 4 years old before August 1st to participate.

Equipment Needed
Shin guards REQUIRED for ALL players. Shin guards MUST be completely covered by long socks. Shorts or sweatpants may be worn. (Dress appropriately for the weather.) Tennis shoes or soccer shoes may be worn. Team jerseys, shorts and socks will be provided. ALL JEWELRY/EARRINGS MUST BE REMOVED!

All players are encouraged to bring a ball to practice and games.
- Grades Pre-K-2 use a size 3 ball
- Grades 3-7 use a size 4 ball

Practices
There will be one practice a week beginning the third or fourth week of April. A team coach will notify each player regarding practice time and field. All practices will be outside, dress players appropriately for weather. Parents/Guardians should use their judgment on sending children to practice. Coaches will notify players if practice is cancelled due to weather.

Game Day
Games are played on Saturdays starting early May and ending late June with our Summer Youth Jamboree. (No games will be played Memorial Day weekend). Rosters and schedules will be made available approximately two weeks before the season begins. A handbook will be provided containing field locations, basic notes of soccer and other pertinent information.

All games are played in bad weather with the exception of lightening or poor field conditions. Cancellations will be announced via e-mail and posted on the website. If you are uncertain, please contact your coach.

Team Pictures
Team pictures will be scheduled in June (date and location TBD). Coaches will hand out team picture information, including schedule and order forms by the first week of the season.

Age Group Coordinators
Coordinator names and information to follow and will be posted on the club website. Volunteers needed!

Registration/Fees
CC United will facilitate an on-line registration with an option for ONE walk-in registration on Saturday, February 20, from 9 am - Noon at the Chaska Community Center.

The regular registration deadline is February 26. Registrations received AFTER the due date will incur a $10 late fee, will not be guaranteed roster spots and placed on a waiting list. Fees will be returned if a roster spot is not available. Late fees will not be refunded. No special requests will be considered for late registrations. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MARCH 11.

The cost for the program is $90 for pre-k through 2nd grade and $105 for grades 3-7.  CCSC will accept Visa, MasterCard, or check.

The club has eliminated the Rec Volunteer Fee. Families are encouraged to volunteer by coaching, being a team manager, helping with field set-up/take down, or staffing a booth at the Jamboree. Visit the Club website for Volunteer Opportunities or contact the Club Volunteer Coordinator.

Team Selection
Registration is based on the grade your child is currently in for the 2009/2010 school year. CC United will field teams for Pre-K through Grade 7. If there are not enough 6th and 7th graders to field a MINIMUM of four teams per gender, CC United will cancel these age groups and refund your registration fee.

Teams will be gender and grade specific if registration numbers allow. Pre-Kindergarten teams may be co-ed, but all other grades will be gender specific.  Team formation will not be based on school/neighborhoods as to avoid "stacking" teams. CC United will try to accommodate ONE special request. Only reciprocal requests will be considered.

Coaches
All coaches are volunteers. Training will be provided at the beginning of the season with a pre-season clinic to be hosted in collaboration with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA). IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING, please see our Summer 2010 Recreational League Calendar for important dates.

Volunteers Needed
